Welcome to the Nebraska Environmental Trust, a state program dedicated to the preservation of Nebraska's natural resources. The Nebraska Environmental Trust provides the seed money needed to preserve critical habitat areas, protect water supplies and establish recycling programs in Nebraska through a unique combination of lottery proceeds and private donations.

Here's what's new at the Trust:

I hope everyone had a happy holiday season and are looking forward to the New Year. The Trust is grateful for continued funding from the Nebraska Lottery and the Trust Board is busy reviewing grant application in order to release preliminary ratings at our February 7th meeting to be held at the Ferguson House. Our Annual Report is at the printer and we hope to be getting out the printed copies soon. However, we do have an electronic version of our 2007 Annual Report below, for those who are interested.

2008 Grant Applications List Released

September 18, 2007– The Nebraska Environmental Trust entered the 2008 grant cycle on September 4, 2007, receiving 94 applications requesting a total of $26,665,243.00. As part of the grant application process, the Trust invites members of the public to review the proposed grants and provide written comments about the projects. A summary of each propoposal is available on the Trust's web site. Comments on the grant applications will be accepted until March 28, 2008 at the Nebraska Environmental Trust office or via e-mail atmailto:%20t.harris@net.ne.gov
