Semipalmated Plover: Semipalmated Plovers are similar to the Piping Plover in size but much darker overall.
Snowy Plover: Photo is of a nonbreeding adult Snowy Plover. Snowy Plovers are smaller than the Piping Plover with a thinner, longer bill, and gray legs.
Killdeer: A much more common species than the Piping Plover. Killdeer are larger, darker, more vocal, and have two black breast bands. They may be found in a variety of habitats including farm fields, lawns, parking lots, beaches, wetlands, and rivers.
